Supplies needed for this technique: Ranger sticky back canvas (it comes in white and natural - I just happened to have natural laying around so that is what I used), patterned paper (it can be single or double sided), water mister, mod podge or gel medium. To better see the steps click on the photos and they will open larger. Step 1: Gather your supplies - I have here some sticky back canvas and a doily shape I cut from a piece of patterned paper. Step 2: Take the patterned paper and put it pattern (that you want to show) face down on the sticky side of the canvas. Trim the canvas down to the same size as the paper. Make sure it is really stuck on there - I ran a bone folder over the top.Step 3: Using a craft mat to protect your table - spray the backside of the paper - it needs to be very saturated - basically once you think you have sprayed it enough - spray it even more! Take your finger and start to rub the back of the paper. You will start to peel off the paper leaving the original image on the canvas. If the paper starts to feel dry or is difficult to rub you need to add more water - I usually have to add water a couple of times through this process. Really you can't have too much water. Step 4: Once you have rubbed all the paper flakes off (the image will still look a little cloudy) rub over the top of the canvas with mod podge or gel medium - I usually use matte and in this case I used the Paper mod podge because it is acid free (so it is safe for a scrapbook). The mod podge will seal the image and get rid of some of the "cloudyness". Note: image transfers aren't meant to be crystal clear transfers - it will always look a little distressed. I used a heat gun to speed up the process. Step 5: trim up the image and adhere to a tag (or layout!)

I love this so much - can't wait to try the sticky back canvas!
I love this so much!! I will have to find that canvas. I have been trying to figure out a way to transfer my original patterns onto textile, but without the expense of paying a textile printer. This may be exactly what I am looking for!!
This looks like so much fun, I really love making things like this, thank you for sharing.
This technique will be so handy to know! Thanks.
