London Calling Cover Tutorial

This is the tutorial for aging the London image on the front of my London Calling mini book. Sometimes I like to find new items (like these cards) and age them to make them look older/vintage and to blend with the paper I am using. This is more of a look into my thought/creative process rather than a tutorial - you'll see I try things - some of which may or may not actually do anything...
I found these London cards at Tuesday Morning. I'm pretty sure I overpaid for them but they were cute and they came with cute envelopes too. I thought they would be perfect to pair with the 7 Gypsies Lille paper line that had some British images in it. First thing I did was rough it up a bit by sanding it down - I concentrated on the edges and sanded towards the middle - I let the sanding block rip up the paper a little so that I would have some of the image missing. I then rubbed vintage photo distress ink over the whole thing to dull down the color. I then spritz watered over the card to bleed the ink. I'm not sure if this step really did anything but I frequently spray my inked creations with water just to see what will happen!To add a couple more droplets of color I used this technique with Walnut Stain ink and more Vintage photo ink.
And here is what it looks like finished! I trimmed off the "white border" then stick it on the front of my London Calling book or put it on a mini notebook!
