Tea Time!

Yesterday I spent the day crafting with one of my favorite product lines from 7 gypsies. I just LOVE the 7 Gypsies Lille line. I love anything vintage and their paper is packed with vintage images perfect for cutting up. I decided to alter a tea container with the new papers and have written up a short tutorial for you to recreate if you like:
First start with a tea tin - I used this one from Starbucks. Measure the paper that is already on the tin - this one is roughly 3 3/4" wide. Cut your paper that width and wrap around the tin gluing as you go - I wanted the tin to show so I only covered the existing paper. Measure the top and cover with paper as well. For a border I used the matching Lille paper tape and wrapped it around the top of the tin. I love this particular postage stamp tape because it is a paper tape and actually feels like postage stamps. It would be great to cut up just the stamp images for a different project. I cut out various images from the Lille paper - labels and such and adhered them randomly on the tin. I recommend covering the entire tin at this point with gel medium or mod podge to seal the tin and prevent the paper from curling up after being handled. Attach a knob to the top of the tin. You can cut a hole and screw it in or if you are lazy like me you can just hot glue it to the top. I used a piece of seam binding ribbon, glimmer misted it, and tied it around the tin. I then glimmer misted a small tag and a doily to decorate the front. I absolutely LOVE crushed shells glimmer mist - it's my favorite - I like it because it gives a vintage/aged feel to whatever you spray it on. I finished the tin off with layers of circles punched out of the Lille paper.

I loved the way this little project turned out. It would make a great gift to give a friend, neighbor, or teacher. It would also be great to make a little mini album and put that in the tin
