A Year of ATCs Glimpses of Nature with Melissa Thiesse $20

Come, learn the art of creating ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) in the continuation of this year-long series! Each month you’ll create four ATCs focusing on a variety of techniques. This class is perfect for ATC creators of all skill levels. Each class is individually priced and themed as follows:

Summer is almost over and the kids are going back to school - It’s the perfect time to dust off your scrapbooking tote and sign up for a class at Memories Galore! Our new class kickoff is just around the corner (September 25^th!) but there is still a month full of classes available to get those creative juices flowing. Grandma’s Attic Layout $24
Remember being fascinated by grandma’s jewelry, hatboxes and delicate photos? Measurable Moments Mini Book & Tin $28

For all those memories that measure up, create this unique mini album complete with an adorable tin for safekeeping. Melissa’s instruction includes how to use paper to decorate your tin, create the mini album and more. You’ll work with Grungeboard, paint and learn to make embellishments that are beyond measure!

Spring Classes

Class kickoff went great today! I'm super excited to be taking Melissa S's Altered Book (it's gorgeous!) and Angela's What Matters Most. If you weren't able to make it out to class kickoff you need to stop by the Brandermill store and check out the class samples. I have a lot of classes that I am excited to be teaching this quarter. A Year of ATCs $20

At the end of the year, you’ll have a collection of unique ATCs reflecting the different seasons and holidays. This class is perfect for ATC creators of all skill levels. ~ April/Spring Fever – Working with canvas, water color effects with distress inks, making paper embellishments.

~May/Scrapbooking – Working with real wood paper and distress inks, utilizing with punches to create embellishments.

~ June/Summer Fun – Using crackle paint, making paper embellishments, distressing techniques.

Family First Folio $30

Join Melissa to create an interactive portfolio to document what is most important in life—family! Rock, Paper, Scissors! $20

In this class, you’ll create a fun spring double-page layout using the one tool that we all have in our scrap tote, but often overlook: our scissors! Learn to create your own embellishments and borders out of patterned paper; and add a hint of bling to your pages for that extra sparkle! You’ll never look at your scissors and paper the same way again!

Seaside Chic ATC Matchbox $28

Artist Trading Cards… You love to collect them but what do you do with them now? Learn how to create this adorable vintage inspired matchbox just the right size to hold your ATCs. You’ll create four ATCs with Graphic 45’s beautiful On the Boardwalk collection and learn distressing, embellishing, inking, and paper layering techniques. How fun is the orange pom-pom ribbon in contrast with the bling?! ATCs never had it so good!

Renaissance Album Workshop Saturday

This Saturday is my last class of the quarter at Memories Galore. Last night was my last class of the quarter: Holiday ATCs in the West End. Everyone had a great time and it was interesting to see the different ATCs that people came up with from using the same materials. Here are a few pictures from last night:

Busy Busy Week

This week is going to be ridiculously busy for me. Tonight I am teaching a Holiday ATC class tonight in the West End. To thank the students for coming I have made each of them a fun little ATC:

This Saturday is Class Kick Off at Memories Galore. I'm really excited about the classes I am teaching this quarter. And for those Richmond readers of my blog I will be posting sneak peeks this week of my classes so be sure to check back and remember to come to class kick off this Saturday at Memories Galore Brandermill 10am -12 and in the West End 1:30-3:30!

And on top of that we are closing on our house this week (hopefully... fingers crossed!)

Tonight's Class at Memories Galore

I just got back from teaching my Terrific Techniques: Distress Inks class at Memories Galore in the West End. It was a lot of fun playing with the inks and exploring different techniques - I know as the teacher I shouldn't admit this but I even learned a few new ones just from playing around. Oh and I'm pretty sure my hands are going to be covered in ink for a couple of days. Thanks again to the ladies who came out tonight (and thanks for letting me take pictures!!)

The week in review

This past wednesday I taught a minibook class at the Memories Galore in the West End. It went really well and there were a bunch of great ladies who were super patient with my unstructured way of teaching/scrapbooking. (I'm bad with measurements - I typically just start chopping until I think it looks ok)

Then yesterday Melissa and I made the 2 hour drive up to the Handcraft House in Madison because it was closing and we wanted to see what deals we could get. Well everything was 40% which in retrospect wasn't that great of a deal.... but we did buy a lot. In other news: we are continuing to house hunt. We found two houses we love and three other houses we would be happy in. So it looks like things are moving in the right direction. Other than that not much new around here. We have a full tivo from the 5 days we were in Rhode Island so we are spending our Saturday lounging around watching tv:

Almost there....

Almost ready for class kickoff tomorrow. Remember yesterday's post? I turned those sheets into "business cards" to hand out at class kickoff tomorrow with my contact info and website. I'm pretty excited about how they turned out!
